Serenbe Getaway - Part 2

We woke up to the soft crowing of roosters. Outside, horses were grazing, the breeze was drifting, and the sun cast a warm, early morning glow.

I wasn't expecting to awake at 8:00 on vacation, but it was OK. Our stay came with breakfast each morning from 8:30 to 9:30, so early risers we were.

When I pass such beauties, I am all smiles, no matter what time it is.

We headed back to the Farmhouse for breakfast.

Filled up pretty nicely before heading back to the room to catch more zzz's.

On the way back, we passed a garden:

And strolled through to the other side to say hello to the llamas.

Back at the cottage, this wrap-around porch beckoned.

As usual, I managed to fit a little work in. M captured my addiction and allowed me one half hour of typing before I had to put it away.

On Mondays, Serenbe is as quiet as quiet can be. Visitors do thin out once the weekend is over, but Mondays are actually when several of the Serenbe businesses and restaurants take a day off, so our Monday was quite a striking juxtaposition from Sunday's May Day, when the town was particularly buzzing.

Ever the explorers, we headed into town around noon. A friend of mine's birthday was coming up, and I wanted to get her a gift from Serenbe.

In town, the first thing I noticed was street art (of course, lol):

And we poked in and out of shops, with free reign of the whole town, it seemed.

I particularly liked Twigs.

I fell in love with this bracelet/watch (pictured above)... but realized it would be a gift for me and not for my friend, so I resisted.

After a good stroll around the town, I was ready to shake out of these clothes.

M found me on a rock.

We splashed about in the late afternoon sun. He's not much for the water, but I'm a mermaid.

As the sun began to set, we headed back to the cottage.

We drove off-site for dinner that evening, since most of the Serenbe restaurants are closed on Mondays.

Then we prepared ourselves to leave this lovely place in the morning. #SadFace.

Next time we come, we'll do more of the activities available, like try out the spa or maybe horseback riding. As it is, this type of mini-break was all we needed.
