King of Pops Yoga

The first time I ever tried an outdoor yoga class was about five years ago, on the big hill in Piedmont Park, and it is still one of the best classes I’ve ever had. Something about doing yoga outside really spoke to me.

The balmy breeze through the trees, the evening sun peeking through the shady oak leaves above, the wide open grassy lawn around us, the fact that our sun salutations actually saluted the sun right above.

It was perfect.

So my happy memories were piqued when I heard about the weekly event King of Pops Yoga!

This free event attracts hundreds of yogis from all over Atlanta, keen to get their namaste on out in the open.

The location is Historic Fourth Ward Park, right on the Eastside Trail of the Atlanta BeltLine, next the skatepark.

An instructor from a local yoga studio uses a microphone to lead the group through approx. an hour of asanas as the sun sets.

There's plenty of space for all to join in.

And all levels are welcome!

Afterwards, if you want, you can walk over to the King of Pops location in Inman Park.

And experience my favorite way to cool down after a workout!
