JCT Kitchen

Honestly... I'll just let the food in this post speak for itself. I'm giving a standing ovation to JCT Kitchen for treating K and I to one of the best lunches I've had in ages. Head on over to West Midtown for a bite to eat!

This place in known for its modern twist on southern-style, seasonal food. We started off with pimento cheese spread over sinful fried bread...

K had the day's special, a light and perfectly seared cod. He'd been really excited about the lobster roll, but they were sold out. Note to self: get there early if you want the lobster roll! One of the most popular menu items.

The cod was an excellent alternative:

I was torn between the scallops and the shrimp and grits, but I decided to branch off and have something that I haven't had recently. JCT Kitchen is known for it's fried chicken, so I gave it a try.

A small moan escaped my lips on the first bite. The seasoning alone is enough to make me a regular customer of this chicken. And I don't even like chicken that much!

We took so long to finish our feast that the whole restaurant cleared out while we were still eating and they'd begun to vacuum around us.

Yes, we were those people, LOL.

Bellies full to bursting and palates fully satiated, we stopped by Star Provisions on our way out to browse for a few minutes while K said hello to a friend. Star Provisions is a cute gourmet market that sells everything from cheeses to breads to butchered meat to wines to sweets.

It was a perfect day in West Midtown!
