Color Fun Fest 2015 - Atlanta - The City Dweller (5)
Last week, my friends and I participated in our first color run, which means we pretty much laughed non-stop for three hours straight.
The Color Fun Fest lead hundreds of people on a 5K route around Turner Field in downtown Atlanta and had a big electronic dance music concert afterwards. Knowing how much I love edm, I was tickled pink to take this nighttime 5K on.

We met at my house first to assemble our costumes, compile our color packets, and get ourselves organized. We named ourselves the
Splatter Sisters
, so we needed to get ready to bring the party.
(Speaking of names, can we have a small interlude in honor of the other teams' names? This is just sample, and there's so much creativity here: Barbiies Bandits, Better Than You, Dye Trying, I'm Just Here For The Free Tshirt, Run Forest Run, Team 50 Shades Of Cray, Unicorn Sparkle, Awesome Possums, Canton Glow Worms, Color Me Badd, Color Me Crazy Asians, Egyptian Spring Roll, Fluorescent Floozies, Holy Walkamolies, Jesus Pieces, Kneutron, Kray-Oh!-La, Love A Lifesaver Or Dye, Mid Summer Nightmare, Mohawk Spies, Neon Knockouts, New Kebes On The Block, Not Fast But Cute, Rainbow Brite, River Ratz, Saintsationals, Superheroes In Training, Swagalicious Running Zebras, Team Hashtag, Team Alpha Super Awesome Cool Dynamite Wolf Squadron, The Gummy Bear Slayers, The Rainbow Sloths, Unicorn Poop, and Wonder Twin Powers, to name a few. These names are priceless and had to be included in this post!)
Anywho, once we arrived, we found parking next to the street art in Summerhill neighborhood, and we *may* have struck a few Charlie's Angels-inspired poses of badassery.

Then it was time to enter the main area and complete our costumes, dosing each other in color powder:

The route wound in and out of the streets around Turner Field. At regular intervals, color was thrown on us.

We weren't really running for time, so who knows how long it took us. But that finish line was a beautiful sight:

Food trucks were all around, encouraging us to eat up the calories we just ran off.

I resisted because I ate a quesadilla before the race. So bad! You know this was my first 5K if I'm eating like that.
But I was totally fine. Better than fine, actually.
We visited the black lights to make our color glow.
And gave our photographer a big ole smooch. He's a lion, so he roared.
