Atlanta continues to cement its place as an epicenter of fashion in the southeast.
With shopping destinations like Lenox Square Mall and Phipps Plaza, as well as the soon-to-open Buckhead Atlanta retail complex, shopping for high-end fashion in this city could not be easier, and luckily for us, the sizzle of Atlanta attracts designer labels in droves.
The grand re-opening of Lenox Square Mall in July featured the addition of brands Diane von Furstenberg and Montblanc, which join Prada, Bulgari, Hermes, and more to satisfy Atlanta visitor’s and resident’s taste for luxury.
Naturally, Atlanta would celebrate the changing seasons stylishly. Though Atlanta doesn’t have a Fashion Week (yet), many people herald the start of the fall fashion season with Jeffrey Fashion Cares, an annual fashion show by Jeffrey Kalinsky of the Jeffrey boutique in Phipps Plaza. The event took place recently at the Atlanta Cancer Society Center.
Attracting hundreds of fashion lovers, celebrities, philanthropists, and socialites from far and wide, the event has raised money for local charities like Atlanta AID Fund and Susan G. Komen for the Cure Atlanta for the past 22 years.
Funds are raised via auctions of accessories, vacations, tickets to parties (the top selling live auction item this year raised $16,000: two tickets to the Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party in Los Angeles), and more.
Energy was high, especially for Jeffery Kasinsky, pictured above second from the left.
Several celebrities joined the fun, including Chili from TLC:
As for me, I had a good time rocking my new earrings, handmade in Atlanta by a talented jeweler named Baba G:
On to the fashion!
The show featured new trends hand-selected by Mr. Kalinsky from designer houses such as Balenciaga, Celine, Louboutin, and more.
Fun tidbit – After chatting it up with Jeffrey Kalinsky backstage, former Bachelorette star Andi Dorfman tried on a gorgeous Cathy Waterman ring that was part of the live auction and ended up walking the entire runway with Josh to try to help sell it, which of course they did. It was surprise to everyone and it was completely unplanned!
Special thanks to Caren West PR and the talented Ben Rose for some of these photos!
